Even a target of 206 proved to be small for the explosive batting unit of Kings XI Punjab as they defeated hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare at the Uppal Stadium. The best part of the run chase was that it wasn’t the efforts of Maxwell and Miller that got them the victory but the unlikely knocks from Indian domestic players Wriddhiman Saha and Manan Vohra that set up the run chase for the Kings.

Saha blazed away to 54 from 26 balls while Vohra scored 47 from 20 balls as Kings XI Punjab found themselves well placed at 125 for 3 in 9.1 overs before their main guns arrived. Maxwell carried on the magic scoring 43 from 22 while David Miller (24* from 24 balls) and Skipper George Bailey (35* from 19 balls) took the responsibility of seeing through the victory.

Earlier, Sunrisers through a blazing knock of 79 from 36 balls (with 4 fours and 7 sixes) from Naman Ojha got to an almighty total of 205 for 5. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan contributed 45 from 37 balls while David Warner scored 44 from 23 balls. Saha was named as the Man of the Match.
